Well, that magazine article I was asked to be in is now out. OK, it came out over two weeks ago, but I was in Hawaii celebrating my tenth wedding anniversary with my whole extended family. So, I'm just getting around to scanning this thing in.
Anyway, I did a photo shoot for this magazine back in April. The picture came out nice. They shot it at Christmas Hill Park, which is where the Garlic Festival is every year.
The article focuses on Guaifenesin and fibromyalgia.
There's some stuff in the article that isn't quite right, so I used that as an excuse to do a musical number at the end of this video. (Although, it usually doesn't take much to prompt me to do rather light-hearted, goofy things on these videos....)
Anyway, enjoy. I'll put the scanned version of the article on my personal blog, which is at www.surfercouple.com.
@jeanneendo In all fairness, they did a very good job on the fibromyalgia aspects of the article. It was just the finer details where they they get a bit creative. My husband thought it was pretty funny. Our dearly departed doggy has been up in doggy heaven for our four years now, so it would be hard for us to still be walking him. :) Oh, and I don't take Mucinex, like the article says. I'm on MDR Guai, like most of the rest of you. But, the rest of it is a good article. It really is.

@jeanneendo Hi Jeanne, Glad you enjoyed it! The whole cake thing always entertains me on the supermarket checkout line. "You're too fat, and I will make you insecure about it. But, you aren't a good wife or mother unless you make your family this 12,000 calorie cake!" Another prized headline I saw on supermarket magazines this week was: "Build your own ark out of wine corks." I was thinking: "But, you'll be so drunk you won't even notice the flood!" - Diana

@Stacy9286 Hi Stacy! Being on LDN for fibro has been a positive experience for me. It took a long time to see any changes, beyond the "vivid dreams" stage. :) The first major changes I noticed were big cognitive improvements. My ability to write creatively came back all at once in late December. I was thrilled to get that back. I saw improvements in my back pain over the winter (usually my worst months.) these changes were more subtle. I've been on LDN since Sept. '09. - Diana

That was so funny!!! I subscribe to you because I am LDN for MS and I'm trying to talk a friend into trying it. She has FM.

Diana,
By the way, you are hilarious the way you highlight how these magazine preach the importance of losing weight while picturing scrumptious-looking cakes on the cover!

Diana,
How exciting that First did the article! I'm sorry they didn't get all of the facts straight. Sadly, that seems to be fairly common with the media these days. Better for them to print errors about what pets you have than about fibromyalgia, I guess. :) I've been interviewed about various chronic illnesses before and you just never know how it'll turn out. I look forward to reading it. Congrats!
