For preschoolers a way to make and play a creative game called TIC-TAC-TOE. When playing many skills are used and developed like spatial reasoning, logic, turn taking, directionality, and perspective taking. TIC-TAC-TOE is not a simple game, research shows that children up to age nine still find it challenging. TIC-TAC TOE offers children the opportunity to develop spatial reasoning by figuring out how to place three of the same markers in a row, vertically, horizontally, or diagonally. Often preschoolers can think only of vertical and horizontal lines and only later begin to notice the diagonal line. TIC-TAC-TOE also offers opportunities for perspective taking, as they begin to think about what their opponent might do next and try to block him or her from getting three in a row. Preschoolers often center only on their own row, and do not see their opponent's row.
