A somewhat different version of this tune sung by Pat Crowther, lyrics have been partly changed to emphasize a more Wiccan perspective.

  • @ParaguayanTree "me good, you evil", right? Saying to a Wiccan that "you know, your God is actually Satan" is as pointless and meaningless as if I were to say to you "you know, your God is actually Satan". One of the things I like about Wicca is that we don't need to go tell other people what they believe in. Religious tolerance, anyone?

  • @ParaguayanTree That the Creator knows us intimately and loves us unconditionally is a core belief of Wicca.

  • I swear I have heard this before... Has it been used in any movies?

  • @Terppa777 People do realize the difference between the Horned God and Satan, right? I swear, sometimes... haha

  • @purpleminnow and more from 'Perdurabo': "Gardner met Crowley through Arnold Crowther; they met four times in all; Crowley gave Gardner authority, which he valued but never used, to operate an OTO body; and Gardner was so impressed with Crowley's writings that he borrowed sections when developing the rituals for his coven." (p. 544)

  • @purpleminnow Hello, you can find out more about this relation (Crowley/Gardner/Wicca) in Richard Kaczynski's book 'Perdurabo - the Life of Aleister Crowley' (Revised ed., 2010). To quote, "Gardnerian witchcraft, particularly its early forms, clearly draws heavily from Crowley. The symbolic great rite comes from OTO's VI¤ ritual; the pagan catchphrase "Perfect love and perfect trust" is drawn from "The Revival of Magick,"... (p. 543)

  • @ParaguayanTree My words ran out on the last post, but I want to clarify Anton LeVey as being distinctly different from either Crowley or the Wiccans. The reason this is so is because LeVey was pointedly reactionary to Christianity. Satanism is definitely not Euro-indigenous nature magic. It is very overtly reactionary and in opposition to Christianity. In other words, without Christianity, there would not be Satanism.

  • @ParaguayanTree I don't say this in a cruel or derogatory tone, but you don't know what you are talking about. It sounds like you are making things up, with a judicious dose of lumping disconnected personalities together to make an argument that all non-Christian magik related phenomenon have any connection to Bible prohibitions. Whether the bible prohibits such practices or not, neither the Thelema, the Golden Dawn practitioners, or the Wiccans really care about the rules of your club.

  • @Terppa777 I don't know where people get the idea that Crowley was in any way, shape, or form related to the emergence and development of Wicca. Crowley's Thelema was more an offshoot of the Golden Dawn of Wescott and Mathers. Even then, Crowley was very individualistic, and his Magik was really not related to Gardner's revival of the Euro-indigenous nature religion that we call Wicca.

  • @ParaguayanTree Crowley and Anton LeVey bore no relation to Wicca. simply lumping all non-Christian beliefs in one indiscriminate category shows a decided lack of understanding or consideration. Since the christian religion invented the modern concept of Satan, it is really a Christian problem, not anybody else's.

  • @whirlwitch Hi, the SB indeed mirrors the Bible in so much as it shows the exact opposite. It claims that "Satan" is not a real thing but just the power of libertine "freedom" in each person. The Bible however recognises Satan as a real Spiritual entity, one that stands opposed to man attaining true freedom and true power through Jesus Christ. God, by contrast, knows everything you and I have ever done and loves us the same. That's called grace, something missing in the occult. God bless!
