Castlevania 1 - Grim Reaper (no hits, no subweapons used)

Death is one of the hardest bosses i've ever seen in videogame history. I only beat him once without a subweapon, but never did that again. I usually use the holy water. Without the double shot it's hard, because you can't stun him that good. Even the floor before him with all the axe warriors and medusa heads is insane.
Great vid, man. Keep it up!!!!

Honestly, I never have trouble with the hall before the Grim Reaper - it's fighting Death that's the total BITCH. Just.... I have never beaten him intentionally, usually I just threw the cross in vain and ran around, and then realized I had beaten him. Then, somehow, I beat him again.

Holy crap this dude is a beast. i fianlly made it past the medusa heads and two knights. Then this unholy beast comes out throwing multiple sickles at me. Im using nestopia and have the game genie cheat for unlimited lives and still finding it impossible.

When I'm playing the Origins map on Castlevania Harmony of Despair, I ALWAYS get stuck on the Grim Reaper :/

Dracula's that rotten. He's even worse than death!
I would say this is the absolute worst game I've ever played. I know it's considered a classic for some reason. My guess is everyone who says that was a kid during that time, and say that because it's nostalgic to them. The graphics and music are pretty good, but the gameplay is so terrible I can't even verbally explain it. Everything is so stiff it's unbelievable. It becomes clear during this boss that you can't even turn around quickly without problems. What a piece of shit.

@AllHaiLKINGTIsHeRe3 I didn't actually grow up with the original Castlevania, but I still consider it a great game. Not implying that you're wrong or anything though, I respect your opinion.

So now that the Grim Reaper is dead, will people in Simon Belmont's world stop dying?
captainunload 3 months ago
@captainunload Nope. As long as Dracula, his master, lives, the Grim Reaper will always return.

@lmphk
I was kind of joking. The point is, he 'killed' death. Shouldn't that have ramifications?

@captainunload I know. I just find it funny that Death has a master in the Castlevania storyline. DEATH!
