re Honor Killings and Islam we dont debate muslims we cook

A video teaching Investigateislam/Christianprince that honour killings are NOT allowed in Islam.
Christianprince produced an illogical and unscholarly video responding to brother Sami Zaatari (SamiZaatari). Sami has already explained honor killings are not part of Islam but this guy clearly did not get the Zaatari's message hence this video correcting him.

A popular misconcpetion with many people who are not familiar with Islam. The fact of the matter is that honor killings are not allowed in Islam.

Hindus, Sikhs and Christians all have the problem of honour killings in their respective communities yet nobody points the finger of blame at the religion of the Sikhs, Hindus, Christians but when Muslims commit this crime many ignorant people do point the finger at Islam probably due to their own bigotry and warped views concerning Islam.

Our brother David Wood, unfortuantely made the same mistake and wrongfully accused Islam of promoting honor killings. Wood went further though, he even misrepresented a hadith as he attempted to convince people that honor killings are allowed, David Wood quoted this hadith:

Sunan Ibn Majah 2540—It was narrated from Ubadah bin Samit that the Messenger of Allah said: Carry out the legal punishments on relatives and strangers, and do not let the fear of blame stop you from carrying out the command of Allah.

This hadith is not about honor killings. David Wood shows his own ignorance and lack of comprehension skills by even suggesting this hadith refers to honor killings. It does refer to legal punishments and teaches us that the elite will be subject to the same law and justice as everybody, this is a fine teaching from which all our societies can learn from

I would ask people to stop learning about islam from hater-sites but do learn from your nearest scholar or mosque. Otherwise you could be mislead by people like David Wood or Syed Kamran Mirza

In fact Claire Murphys (BBC News) statement corrects and educates Mirza and shows Mirza that other cultures and religious communities have the same problem of honor killings; It is widely agreed that the root and cause of honour killing is a complex, historical phenomenon which has no justification in Islam's holy book, the Koran, and which has also been known to occur elsewhere in the world and among other religions.

There is no such concept in Islam that is called honor killing. Islam holds every soul in high esteem and does not allow any transgression upon it. It does not allow people to take the law in their own hands and administer justice, because doing so will be leading to chaos and lawlessness. Therefore, based on this, Islam does not permit such killings.

Honor killings are based in culture not religion...though I would like to know what Christians understand from:

Leviticus 21:9 (New International Version)
9 " 'If a priest's daughter defiles herself by becoming a prostitute, she disgraces her father; she must be burned in the fire.


20:9
9 " 'If anyone curses his father or mother, he must be put to death.


So on the surface the Bible does to appear to have something related to honor killings...however it is important not to make this accusation, I await to hear the Christian explanation before making a firm judgement. This is where we need our friend David Wood. He is a Christian apologist so may have a view on this issue which may be useful.

As to honor killings, most Muslim states do have laws against it, but in practice honor killings in places like Pakistan are often unpunished. The result is that tradition may carry more weight than the law, and honor killings are not uncommon.

Don't lie to the Muslims, we know our scripture well and we would not lie if it was such an obvious thing.

To most people Honour Killing involves killing of ones own blood relatives but to David Wood and other Christian apologetics who are more liberal tend not to accept that definition. They try to link in Apostasy killing as a form of Honour killing. If they want to stretch the definition to that extent then they should also accuse defensive warfare as a form or honour killing
