Free Version of Photoshop- GIMP 2.6

Why does my gimp does not open any images?? I also downloaded gimp from that site but i think its not functioning well BTW im a RPC editor so im trying gimp to edit my images from sai but when im opening it on gimp it doesn't open they said use PSD file but it doesn't work either

sorry, for probably a dumb question I suck at downloading stuff, after u go through the temorary firt part of the download, how long will it take to download. I only have windows xp and its kinda slow. pleaz respond asap, ty 4 ur time
