Gelandangan's Homemade MRE.
This is one of my various MRE pack that I construct for my hunting/camping trips.
Complete Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner plus some snacks during the day.
Usually I pack 7 of these packs into a larger mylar bag for a week supply.
This is what I called the "sweet pack" where most of the snacks are sweet.
Contents of the pack is less than $4.00.
Other packs variant I use for example,
dried jerky, or raisins, or dried figs for snack instead of chocolate
a can of tuna or smoked oyster for additional flavor
Ramen or pasta for the main meals.
The instant noodle packs are to be cooked on my stainless steel water flask over any fire.
My stove is a homemade soda pop alcohol stove.
Total calorie count is about 2200cal.
Comprises of:
2x instant noodles (main meal lunch & dinner)
1x Yogurt topped Oat bar (main meal breakfast)
2x Uncle Toby's muesli bars (heavy snacks)
3x Cheese & Crisp bread crackers (light snacks)
2x Chocolate covered coconut sweet (light snack)
1x Fund raising chocolate bar (Yummy!!)
2x 3 in 1 instant coffee (complete sugar, cream and coffee packs)
1x Tea bag (inside a small zip bag to reuse if needed)
1x sugar satchel (don't usually need this but nice to add to tea)
1x salt satchel (again not usually used, but it is good to rehydrate if required)
1x zip bag to carry left over contents once the Mylar bag is opened
1x plastic spork (half spoon and half fork)
I usually pop in a pair of disposable chopsticks in the pack as well.
Included is 1x 100cc Oxygen absorber to help prolong life of the contents.
As usual, I use a Vacuum cleaner with plastic hose attached, a household iron and my 2x4 piece of timber for ironing base.
Note: Multivitamin pills are recommended for prolong uses of these kind of MRE.
I usually carry my multivitamin pills in my EDC.
