Man you fried your piston rings

It was a spun bearing. I just wished once the knocking started that it wouldn't hacve been turned on or driven at all.
but not all hope is lost.
oh and just so the record is straight.......FIEROS ROCK!!!!!! ;-)

The idea behind the Fiero is brilliant. If only people would drive more carefully, I'd like to have one. A nasty way to break your legs though.
Perhaps a rod is knocking. But if you use the Ceratec treatment, the engine would possibly have been saved from the over-rev incident. A main knock is usually a deeper knock. Just get a stethescope and stop speculating.
The crew of the ISS is watching you, so make sure you use a quality torque wrench as well.

The car is now FIXED!!!! :D It cost a little over $800 (Thanks again Steve!!!!) and about a month and a quarter, but it's back on the road!!!! The motor was removed and stripped down to an empty block, the crank was replaced, additional maintenence was done and the motor was rebuilt. Most of the time was spent waiting for parts to cime in due to bad info from an ebay seller on the 1st crank we tried. Total labor was about 1 1/2 weeks. Updates soon after the 1K mile tune up! Better things ahead!

Well, the car is with my good friend and mechanic right now, he has a good deal of the top end apart already. So far he hasnt found any indication of the source of the knock, so perhaps it is a lower end knock, which would effectively total the engine. Oh well, I havent given up hope yet!

Haha, def a spun bearing. I did that to my old pontiac, twice. Your motor can be saved, so stop turning the car over and reving it, your only digging your rings farther into your block. A thrown rod would show water in the oil, and a bent or dropped valve would be WAY louder and you could hear it at idle. So only thing left is a bearing due to only hearing it when you rev it.
