Simple Steps To A Better You

Fitness Expert Denise Austin Tells Us How Small Changes

in Diet and Fitness Can Make Everyday a Good Day

It's never too late to begin a healthier path and there is no better time than now to spring into action! From the minute your feet hit the floor in the morning until the minute your head hits the pillow at night, you have hundreds of opportunities to make today better. Fitness Expert, Denise Austin, believes that the smallest and simplest changes can have the biggest impact on your daily life. She has tips to help you create a balance of health and wellness to make today great.

Start The Day The Right Way: Eating right is a mental and a physical battle. But it doesn't have to be that hard. The key is to begin the day with an easy and filling breakfast to help provide a great head start. Denise will talk about foods that are rich in protein and stave off hunger, while keeping the body in balance. She will offer a few quick recipes and will also talk about leading by example to get your kids on the right track.

Short and Simple Is A Great Way To Start: You don't need to exercise for hours on end. Denise says that starting with just 10 minutes of activity a day, whether walking around the block or doing lunges in the living room, will get you started on making daily workouts a habit. She'll offer tips for workouts that anyone can fit into the few free minutes they have each day.

Think Positive and Feel Great: Train your brain in order to have a great day. Denise admits there are days that she'd rather stay in bed and eat donuts, but it's nothing that a little pep talk can't solve. She'll remind viewers that weaknesses are perfectly normal - it's what makes us human. But, gathering the strength to overcome our challenges gives us the motivation and the drive to make the next day even better.

On Wednesday, April 23, Denise Austin will discuss how to get your viewers on the fast track to making today a better day and offer tips for staying on track without beating ourselves up.

About the talent: In her 25 years as a fitness professional, Denise Austin has sold more than 20 million videos, written nine books and is entering her 20 season on television with her shows Denise Austin's Daily Workout and Fit and Lite. In 2006, President Bush appointed Denise to a second term as a member of the President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports. This interview is provided by Smuckers.

  • Some people may find the way she talks annoying but I really like her!

  • You're so right. It really sucks about the show being canceled. My daughters (7 & 9) and did the workout together until they canceled her show. I loved that they heard her say things like "It's not about being a skinny minny, it's about being healthy". Please bring her back! :(

  • I miss her show, too! Thanks to Denise, I lost 34 lbs.

  • Is it bad to think she looks sexy just being in the kitchen? :) And I don't mean in a chauvenistic way either. She looks "wholesomely sexy" :) Plus I admire her business savvy and her marketing; she's involved in so many different ways and venues. What a woman!

  • If you go to every day health dot com. It offers all the same things as her site does and its free.Click on calorie counter. I miss her show too she is inspirational.

  • shes so beautiful

  • She sounds like Rachel Ray. Therefore, she's the Rachel Ray of weight loss, unlike Rachel Ray, who provides weight gain.

  • She motivates my statue almost every day.

  • i i think her voice sound cheerful

  • My favorite is Denise Austin's Blast Away DVD. Her and Leslie Sansome have some good basic videos for folks who are starting out and/or dealing with fatigue issues. I find I do need to change the DVD workouts every once in a while and I keep returning to the Blast Away DVD.
