  • Everything is bad for our heath these days it seems. Can't breathe the air, can't drink the water. We're screwed either way lol. I'd also be interested to see what the readings are like near a microwave btw. It's an interesting line of study.

  • @Freeflyer91 some things are worse than others. extended exposure to ELF has been linked to cancer. nearly all electronic appliances emit some ELF. the amount of time you are exposed is important, that is why computer monitors are a concern. as demonstrated in the video, 3milligaus of ELF is bad for long term exposure; below 1 is considered OK. for microwaves, the meter also measures that in mW/cm2. older microwaves are really bad. Russia has better safety standards than US.

  • I thought LCDs were safe... Aren't they?

  • LCD (and other) flat screens are dangerous as well. From what you might ask? UVC radiation. The sun produces UVA,UVB and UVC radiation. Most UVC is blocked by atmosphere. Most LCD panels produce UVC radiation, of which your body has no defense. Damages the eyes-- etc.. You can purchase a radiation shield for your CRT monitor. I've yet to find a reliable or affordable way to measure UVC radiation. Eyes itch? Skin turning red? It's your LCD monitor? Fluorescent light that is unshielded.

  • Which is the best kind of meter to use to measure all the dangerous kinds of radiation in my house???

Are any of the ones off ebay decent?

  • i have a CRT monitor i`m still using, but i have a LCD monitor someone gave me.Should i get rid of the CRT,is the radiation that much higher? Seems like there was a book by ann louise gittleman about how to avoid appliance energy fields called "are you being zapped?" i think

  • help your body combat the pullutuions by raw foods, really the only way cos if you eat shite then you are really only feeding the problem excuse the pun..education peoples.

  • @Gfrant if you believe everything the US government tells you about your health, you have another thing coming. Prolonged use of cell phones has been shown to increase brain cancer rates in many peer-reviewed studies. All I'm saying is don't believe just one source. You have to do research on your own. More often than not, the government is the last one to admit there is a problem, not the first. Keep in mind they just approved the use of GMOs on alfalfa crops, which is very bad.

  • @solarbus i'm no expert either, but isn't the danger of this low frequency radiation controversial? some studies have found a correlation between the low frequency fields generated by electronic devices harmful, while a myriad of other studies have found no harm. in fact, the national academy of sciences states that more recent studies are inconsistent in demonstrating the relationship between this type of radiation and cancer. google "cancer.gov electromagnetic fields"

  • I just smashed my crt monitor...can you readdthis i cant see ? oh well ...down to besbuy ,..thanks

  • ive just moved my crt 1ft further from my face
