  • stylistically it is not Taneev & Russian music

  • @iboprivat perhaps not this part of the recording. you haven't heard all of the piece, have you? and even so, it's performed by a student choir, a chorus of amateurs, most of whom do not read music, in a western european context. many untrained voices.

I'm not even trying to defend the performance, I just don't think you can judge it by these measures.

  • am a choir conductor from ukraine - its one of my favorite things - this performance is awful & lifeless

    (so sorry)

  • @iboprivat well, too bad. I'm surpirsed you can judge that from such a short fragment of a performance though.

  • OH MY GOD!!! I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS PIECE FOR EVER!!! do you have all of it? actually I have a different recording of this on record disk, much older and probably more professional. I will be posting it soon, after it is remastered.

  • Hi, this is indeed an amateur performance, it's the student choir I sing in...

i have a professional recording (RNO Pletnev) in mp3, as well as our entire performance, but i won't be putting all of that on youtube.

send me an email/message if you're interested...

  • Шурыгин Виталий Александрович! Это Вы научили любить нас Танеева!Поклон Вам!

  • Am sorry for my inclemency. If they are amauthors - i was wrong. Very good ensemble, but some cultural moments are wrong. in russian music every sound must have tendency and small vibrato (as a sign of soul sining).

At all you are good! Wish you all success.

ps one more score of taneev in cpdl

  • I sang this also, way back in seventies. Student choir Bragi in Groningen. Conductor Alfred Salten. Still a great favorite of mine !!

  • does your recording have like a long pause in the very beginning?
