This is what happens when I connect two 15KV 60mA neon transformers in parallel and hook them up to a small jacob's ladder. When I turn on the first transformer it works normally with the arc traveling to the top and then restarting at the bottom. Turning on the second actually causes the arc to get stuck at the top where it starts burning the crap out of the plastic antenna tip creating a mini carbon arc.

  • does the ma or the volts make the spark longer?

  • Voltage let's the arc start at a longer distance while current helps determine how thick/hot the arc is and how long you can stretch it.
