THANK YOU for mentioning the home invasions! Seriously, these gun control idiots get the impression that if guns re banned, it'll cause peace. But they fail to realize that all that happens is that the law abiding citizens are left defenseless, while the criminals go running around with weapons, & take advantage of the situation. Is God in show BIZ, too? It is also a Buddha-like story of a man coming to enlightenment. In the end You and the Buddha are one and the same. In nirvana we see things as they are beyond Dogma and prejudice and folly. We accept the earth as it is. And strive for stoical grateful indifference. Is God in show BIZ, too? To look at a cathedral, you'd think so. Where is God in This Movie? Well, The head is a caveman GOD for a cave man. I mean Read Deuteronomy in the old testament and you'll be unnerved by it. The Tabernacle is no better with a lot of rules an no mercy, but it's different . Life is stagnant in the vortex by poor design. It's all means with no good end. At the end we get Spinoza and A. Schopenhauer's Romantic idea of God out of the Will in nature.

Zardoz is a twist on Brave New World as Brave New World is a twist on Plato's Republic. It speaks of the cycle of Barbarism, civilization and human hubris. Here A Nature Philosophy out of Nietzsche or Rousseau trumps the short comings of a vain psudo culture. Existence precedes culture. ZED frees them that they might live naturally again and to rebuild civilization with truer value. It' also has all the charm of a drive in movie like the Planet of the Apes.
