Roger Cook and his team infiltrate the National Front and convinces Nick Griffin that the Cook Report team are from the french far right Front National. So convinced that they were from the Front National, that Nick Griffin confides in them amongst others, his plans of amalgamating the National Front with the BNP (British National Party) and infiltrating UKIP (United Kingdom Independence Party) to destroy them politically.

Since this episode:

NICK GRIFFIN has become the leader of the BNP and a Member of the European Parliament. He is currently a prospective parliamentary candidate to the Barking constituency for the 2010 United Kingdom General Elections.

WAYNE ASHCROFT left the National Front in 1998 and changed his name to George Ashcroft and became a Conservative Party councillor in 2007. He has regretted his past actions and now condemns racism.

DR MARK DEAVIN left the BNP in the late 90's and is working as a historian specialising on Harold Macmillan

The reason why Griffin said that he wanted to forcefully repatriate the ethnic minorities was because it WAS PARTY-LINE POLICY back then and he had no choice but to say that because he was NOT chairman in 1997 but when he was democratically elected as chairman he changed it.

@NatDemUK I don't think John Tyndall was happy with Nick Griffin, when he saw this programme and found out that Nick Griffin was planning to amalgamate the BNP with the National Front behind his back. After that programme, John Tyndall never trusted Nick Griffin and ultimately Nick Griffin overthrew John Tyndall in a bloodless coup in 1999 !!!

@dee74raz I read a commentary on the 1997 General election by John Tyndall and he considered the National Front as allies which is why the BNP did not compete against them in any constituency except its rival the National Democrats.

@NatDemUK True, why did Nick Griffin wanted to amalgamate the BNP with the National Front without John Tyndall knowing about it. Yes Tyndall considered the NF as allies, but I don't think he publicly wanted to amalgamate (join them under one name) with them. This shows there was distrust between Nick Griffin and John Tyndall. And ultimately Tyndall was removed and Griffin took over.

@NatDemUK Probably yes, because it didn't look good publicly for the BNP when a senior guy is charged for inciting racial hatred !!! It was only due to Lord Carlile who reported to the police about Nick Griffin's writings in the Rune, that Nick Griffin was prosecuted, otherwise Griffin would have got away with it !!!

When Nick Griffin was asked if He would send the non-whites home wether they wanted to go or not or were even born here or not, he said YES clearly to both accounts. If this is NOT BLATENTLY racist but also deeply offensive, Then i dont know what else could be more racist then this. I think the answer to both these questions should sum up the Entire Cook report rather quickly and accurately with no way out. He still holds the same views today but tries to be more subtle about it. Shame on him.

I am not saying the bnp has or has not changed ,the fact is that its roots are proven to be racist ,griffin is proven to of supported racist violence, griffin is on camera calling WW2 veterans liars.

Griffin either is or at some point has been a racist thug and a traitor.

For that reason alone he should never get a British vote.

Cooks long gone. He was a rarity, one of the few private citizens ever to be allowed an armoury in his house.(Smith n westerns, AK 47s etc).I know coz my brother painted his house and saw his gun cabinet and he ALWAYS wore his .38 revolver in its gun holster even when chilled out in his garden. Six police drive byes every 24 hrs, 4 rotweilers, cameras, and a secure concrete panic-room. At any one time he said there was always about 6 serious murder threats on him. (Phew! Some job!!)

@dee74raz Ay, I mean, The Rune was not even party literature and there was no party literature that made a mockery out of Jews. You only have to read Spearhead and British Nationalist (which was eventually replaced by Voice of Freedom) and you would find nothing anti-Semitic but only anti-Zionist.
