  • I love how this show could pull off "very special episodes" that were more edgy and realistic, rather than preachy.

  • This is a great show, great episode, and Michael J Fox is a great actor. But I can't help but wonder if he ever took anything to help him through the non-stop work around 1985, since he was filming Back to the Future and Family Ties at the same time. He said he only used to get a couple of hours of sleep a day.

  • at 1:59 it sounded like alex said the f word

  • @juker606 : MOM'S a dick--Dad's just kind of a neuter. ;])

  • @bobanddavid90 I think the reason it wasn't preachy was the cast. This ensemble always had a great chemistry that magically made even the most ridiculous plot lines believable and endearing.

  • @77ukraine Yeah! I remember that! Will was having the same problem as Alex, so he borrowed a few pills. Unlike Alex, he himself never took any. But Carlton took a huge dose of them, thinking they were Vitamin E tablets, and was hospitalied.

  • I love how Alex just randomly hugs his younger sister :)

  • these parents are dicks

  • I love Family Ties. Michael J. Fox

  • @vleon1012 That episode is called A, My Name is Alex. It's a two-parter from Season 5. There are a few copies around here on YouTube.

  • This was a real sitcom, it allways had lessons about the importance of family, friendship, loyalty, etc. Family Ties was amazing. I was born in the late 80's and still i love to watch it, thaks tto technology! (and the uploader of course! XD)

  • it's just not a sitcom without a drug addiction
