@gys2gether I read that Elaine Brown was undercover and the one who turned Huey on to cocaine, I hope this was just a rumor. Her album was so great "Seize The Time"

What happened to Huey Newton could happen to anyone-He is only human-crack cocaine is a very addictive -It is sad that he died from the very thing (drug addiction) that he spent his life when he was with the Black Panthers trying to rid the community of-It shows that he is only human-He was one of the founders of the Black Panthers-He was very dedicated to the struggle and men like him and Bobby Seale put their lives on the line to make a better way for us black people-RIP Huey Newton

@aldeb456 Actually George Jackson did not kill that prison guard he was accused of killing the prison guard because he was a member of the Black Panthers-The prison guard was thrown over the 3rd Tier of the prison and George Jackson wasn't even an inmate on that side of the prison-he was an inmate of the opposite side of the prison-read his book called "Soledad Brother"

For insight into Huey P. Newton and the Black Panther Party, I suggest you read Elaine Brown's Taste of Power. It covers a lot of the answers that are being asked. It enlighten you on George Jackson's demise and Huey's character. I don't think that many people know that Huey used cocaine while he was a Panther also if you can get a copy of The Black Power Mixtape 1967-1975, it archival footage of interviews with people who were involved with the movement. If I can, I will upload it this week.
