"SAILING THE WORLD ALONE" is available for the first time on DVD - (see my website below to order) Every four years a few hardy sailors undertake the longest yacht race... to circumnavigate the globe single-handed. Twenty skippers from seven nations cross the starting line outside Charleston Harbor in September, 1994 to begin the 27,000 mile adventure of a lifetime. Before the winner crosses the finish line eight months later, two boats sink, one runs aground and another is lost at sea. This is the story of how the survivors tackle disaster and celebrate success. Narrated by Hal Holbrook EMMY AWARD WINNING DOCUMENTARY directed by Laszlo Pal. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000U4EA3Y?ie=UTF8&seller=A2OHOEVST4QF1Y...

  • this is my dreams

  • Thank you for up loading this video! It's true what they say about the ocean, it's a place where you can dream and be free...if only for a minute. It's my goal to travel the Pacific. I think it's one of the most beautiful places.

  • I am now 15 years old (from Germany), and I have sailed around the world with my

parents ( when I was 4-7), in a 21 foot/ 6,50 meter etap 21i. It was the best time of my live. My dad wrote a book about our journey. Thanks

  • If I was going to do a circumnavigation I would design a slower safer craft that had both sails that can be operated from inside and solar electric motors for the lul's. Pure sailing is very nice but in the open ocean solo I would want tb be inside something in case I get rolled. I would want a retractable mast and a heavier keel or full keel. The hull would have to be made of unsinkable material with airtight pockets.

  • where's the rest...?

  • Wow, thank you.

  • I love this show. My dad recorded it when it aired on OPB and it is awesome. This kind of thing takes balls.

  • great show!
