Pilgrim's Plunge - Holiday World 2009

Holiday World unveils the world's tallest water ride, Pilgrim's Plunge in 2009. The ride towers 165 feet above the ground, and includes a 131 foot drop at 45 degrees, reaching speeds in excess of 50mph. The $4.3 million dollar Intamin AG manufactured water ride is able to produce a wall of water 45 feet high, and 90 feet wide upon impact with the pool of water.

Despite being the tallest, the previous record holder, Perilous Plunge at Knott's Berry Farm, still holds the record for the steepest drop on a water ride, at a staggering 75 degrees.
