This week's Cheap Wine review is Dr. Willkomm's 'Blue River" Riesling. Purchased at Sam's Club, Panama City Beach, FL (My guess is...they sell alot of wine down there). Product of Germany. Visit BlueRiverRiesling.com for more information on this wine. Price $10-15 depending on your area.

This wine is fruity and on the sweet side. Very smooth and not dry at all. Crisp and light...so be careful or you'll guzzle down two glasses before you get dinner cooked! If you prefer wines like Chateau Ste. Michelle, you'll like this wine.

My Spritzer recipe: 1/2 glass wine, 1/2 glass 7Up, twist of lime, ice from Sonic. (If you mix it with Mountain Dew, you might be a redneck....If so...wear it proudly!)

Remember: I'm just a Southern gal on a budget. This ain't Food & Wine Mag.!

  • I was disappointed with this "Riesling."

Might as well have stopped by a gas station and got a bottle of Boone's Farm.

I really don't see why they bother shipping this all the way across an ocean.

  • We found the same to be true! It goes well with steak, too!
