"Don't Use This Filter with Sand!!"

How to fix those pesky rattling noise/sound coming from your newly AquaClear filter motor and other HOB filters.

** This guide can be use for all HOB filter including canister filters **

  • i had to replace my sponge in my 2 aquaclear 70s and they had a wierd smell (the new ones did like new sponge) so i rinsed them like any new media and it made my tank extremely cloudy what can i do? and the water also has the new sponge smell anpetstore or something and or a 10 gallon tank and get new gravel and a 100% d when i add water the gravle stirs up and these little whiteish clear worms are all around in my tank what do i do? and with the cloudy water should i take all my fish into my

  • @mikeydude319 are you rinsing the sponge in tank water?

    I always have cloudy water at first but it clear up fast. As for the worm, I don't know unless I seen a picture or video.

  • i use mine with sand and have no problems

  • @espirates2 the sand i use was not heavy and it can be suck up easily

  • Thank you so very much for the info. I tried the pen and you were right.... it started in a quick 2 seconds... It work just as you said.... I had unplug the Aquaclear Filter 50 to clean the filter and when I plugged it back in , It would not start. You saved me money.... :) Thanks again!

  • You can use this filter with sand if you put a fluval edge sponge pre filter on the end of the intake tube
