Once the electric car is the standard then there will be plenty of cheap gas for the classics and making plastic, I just hope we dont start sending foreign aid to the desert rats that held us over the barrel for so long. But you know dam well we will, still the performance of electric motors with instant torque and flat powerbands will make for some very intresting e-rods, I hope too see em sooner than later.
@Rawr454 I really hope to see some awd electric's hit the streets, the tesla is not bad as far as range, but its too expensive and rwd only. Now when theres a motor on all 4 wheels traction control and cornering can be adjusted on the fly 1000 times a second for ultimate edge of traction performance, add in 4 wheel steering and it will be hard to beat, not to mention durable, efficent, and clean if not too quiet. We just need gas to top 10 bucks a gallon and get the ball really rolling.
@meattube4u33 Let's hope to never see that day, I love the raw, torquey American v8's, high-strung Japanese i6/v6's and eager 4 cylinders. I just love cars, the way they look, sound, smell and the feelings they evoke; and I shall defend them to the death!
I have a hybrid as a project car - now before you growl and snarl - it's a '73 Datsun receiving a heart transplant from Chevy. It's graceful yet has a belly of fire, just like GT40s, Cobras and Panteras. Foregin soul with an American heart!
and hot rodding will be all about handling tunning and weight reduction, but until then give me enough brute twist too snatch the wheels at the red light and lay rubber too the end of 5th gear. 8-)
it would not last near as long. So yes there is a point where less is more but for most factory cars a bit bigger is almost always the road to better performance and by far the less expensive way too go. One day after our government has mandated speed limiters for all road cars ( 85 mph ) I suspect, just enough to keep cops in the ticket business, and acceleration limiters ( for our safety ) we will all ride in 1.0 liter engined cars with infinite variable valve timing and cvt transmissions -
Sounds staged. Sounds like the bike didn't get on it until right before the camera.
