This reminds me of the syndicated nighttime Jeopardy from 1974-75.where at the end a contestant can win $25,000. One episode had a player win the 25 grand and Art Fleming went ;ballistic, shouting, "I've gotta shake your hand, sir! CONGRATULATIONS!!"

DAMMIT I wish I could see this whole episode.

I had the pleasure of meeting Art Fleming once when he was the moderator for the return of "College Bowl" on CBS Radio in the late 1970s. I had done some question research and was invited to the taping of a few shows at Washington University in St. Louis. What a trip to hear the great Art Fleming read one of your questions! He was all class, too, and funny in the cafeteria during one break.

They were just tossed around from station to station.

No time to be erased? I'm not sure I understand.

They are supposed to exist, considering '70s syndicated shows have no time to be erased.

I thought this clip was from the short-lived nighttime version in 1974-75, with Fleming in a tux, a glitzier set, and a Jeopardy Jackpot which included prizes like a car or up to $25,000 cash.
By the way...do any episodes of THAT exist?!

I just saw a longer version of this clip elsewhere and found that I was correct, as Art Fleming mentioned that the man correctly identified the state that contained the geographic center of the US.
I saw this show during its original broadcast and had an audio tape of it until it was lost over ten years ago. No question that the college and youth tournaments were the closest to his heart. He was always conscious of the fact that JEOPARDY! had achieved a great credibility in the academic world, and he used that to always promote a good education for our youth.

The handsome young man in this video who won is my father-in-law. It was the 1967 High School Jeopardy. The question Art asked was "Including Hawaii and Alaska, what state contains the geographic center of the US." If anyone has the full version of this we'd love to see it! My father-in--law still has it. You can ask him anything and he knows. He's a genius.
