As a college student, I feel like people of my age are suspected of drunk driving more often than adults or other age groups. I have a strong opinion on drunk driving and feel it is unacceptable in any circumstance. So my question is if I were to get pulled over under suspicion of drinking and driving, could these faulty breathalyzers mess up so bad as to show a reading of alcohol in my system when there really is none whatsoever?

Woah!!! That is crazy scary! I know this is in Virginia but it really concerns me that this might be happening in other states as well. It is interesting that what started out as a regular DUI case was turned quickly into something much bigger. I am glad that this lawyer accidentally stubbled upon this and is making the necessary steps to correct it.

Wow that is scary knowing that the breathalyser, in this state of Virginia, has major flaws and can cause an uproar of innocent people to be guilty. Plus, the name intoxilyzer 5000 seems like children's toy. I am glad that this lawyer is taking the necessary steps into correcting the flaws of the breathalyser that is possibly taking innocent people away.

This concerns me a lot because when people are tested using a breathalyzer, it is really what the breathalyzer says over what the person says. Hearing that they are malfunctioning concerns me for those who are innocent. I think they need to check all of them, so that only those who are guilty will be persecuted.
