Safin and his sister lacked mental toughness. He would constantly screw his own head up with his temper tantrums and lose his focus. John MacEnroe had the kind of personality where his bitching actually HELPED him play better. Did his sister ever win anything big? She wouldn't throw a huge tantrum but she would totally lose her focus when faced with adversity.
