The Los Angeles Lakers took on the Cleveland Cavaliers at the Staples Center on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Monday, January 19, 2009.

The Lakers won the game 105 to 88 versus the Cavaliers. The Lakers were led by Kobe Bryant's 20 points and 12 assists, Pau Gasol 22 points and 12 rebounds, and a strong supporting cast by the Lakers team. Lebron James of the Cavaliers had a horrific shooting game and did not play as well as Kobe did.

Kobe continued to play in the game despite suffering a dislocated finger.
