The thing that freaks me out about this isn't actually the sounds themselves -there were SOMEWHAT similar things being made at this time- it's the FIDELITY of those sounds! This is so clean it almost sounds MIDI. In 1959. What the hell? What kind of compressor was he using? What kind of tape? Most late-sixties rock records are mastered murkier than this. How on earth did he do it?
