    I is a better way to dispose the hard drives. The circuits boards contain no customer data, and could be used for recover purposes. The case covers are stainless steel. The bodies are aluminum. The platters could be stacked together and crushed, because it is the only place the data is stored on the drive.

    It would be more environmentally friendly to dissemble them, and a more efficient way to recycle. I am sure it is less labor to crush and recycle, but it not the cleanest or best way.
