Wow everyone is a freaking music critic in youtube.The guy played his own version of the song, 8 finger tapped style nontheless,with a more laid back feel and slightly altered backing track.Yes the timing seemed off in some parts but so what?Most of you cant even play like that in your sleep let alone live and yet you have the balls to critisize.You wanted a copy of timmons but he played his unique version.Thats why he is a musician and you ..wannabe rockers...lol.

@Ozznize guess what? i would seriously doubt guthrie govan cares if you approve of his using a hairband or not. its just a tool..greg howe and plenty of guys use it. keep in mind brodericks approach of 8 finger tapping is quite different than guthries general approach anyway.

@Ozznize Guitar is not a sport mate.Its about making music.So you can use whatever tool you need in the process.People with flawless tech use hairbands from time to time.Guthrie is the ultimate example.He has every technique down for 8 finger tapping to hybrid picking he can play perfectly without one but he is not a PRETENCIOUS SNOB either.He uses it when he wants to save time(and money).If we accept your point of view...why use also a capo....or guitar effects or an amplifier for that matter.

@Dreamdancer11 being in a studio doesnt change how you play at all and this means if you are good you are good but in case you a bad and go to the studio guess what you are still bad. and as it happens to be there is a chris broderick video in the related videos of him doing 8 finger tapping without hairbands while he uses distortion. and guthrie govan is one of the best guitar players around right now do i approve when he uses a hairband ? hairbands are used by lazy people

@Ozznize This is not the best 8 finger tapping video and definately not the worst.Its a really really decent effort(still waiting for your take-dont be shy).Hairbands are not needed 90 percent of the time with either clean or distorted tone .But go to a studio,record a perfectly good take only to realize it was destroyed by a little extra noise.A little humble hairband saves you time and money.The pros dont seem to mind.But what do they really know right?
