present it! BMW X1 BMW has unveiled the X1,the newest member of its X-family of off-road fleet. Immediately recognizable as a BMW,the X1 comes with either a gasoline engine or one of three diesels and in all-wheel drive or rear-wheel drive versions. Fuel-saving features like automatic stop-start,shifting cues and regenerative braking help make the X1 especially efficient. The smallest diesel needs just 5.2 liters for 100 kilometers. Prices in Germany start at 27,200 euros.

Loved or hated,no one could deny that the Smart showed how small a small car could be. In 2009,the Smart finally got some serious competition.
