November 20th, 2009, UC Berkeley students surrounded and overtook Wheeler Hall to protest a 32% tuition hike, job losses, and the defunding of public education in California.
The students were met with vicious police, and the students fought back, chanting "Books not Batons".

  • Yeah shame the cop's didn't shoot the guy that obviously attacked the officer.

  • "not their job..." Actually if if helps keep the peace, then yes it is. No competent cop does his job well without talking to citizens and neighbors.

Blocking access by itself is NOT A RIOT. nor is leaning on a fence.

Government derives it's power from the CONSENT of the governed.

    You won't win this argument.

  • STUDENTS are criminals IF they break the law.

  • Berkeley students are assholes trust me ive been watching these videos its like listen, if you dont listen then they will respond

  • Call me crazy, but I think we should have just mowed down all those fuckers with machine gun fire. Fuck the law, fuck the government, fuck your rights. Eat lead.

  • I thought everyone knew by now. Students are criminals nowadays. Cops think everyone lies.

  • @jonnyracerx Actually, riot laws are very open-ended. In my state, a riot is a group of 3 or more individuals who are together participating in a crime. Since blocking a public passageway is a crime, 3 or more people doing it together become a "riot." That is in my state; CA may be different.

Laws are actual, specific things, not fairy concepts argued by personal opinion on YouTube. Look up your state's statutes and become informed so you know the real facts.

  • @DonkeyPunchFTW The cops have no right to exist, and if the people being protested against don't want to be "intimidated" then they can stop oppressing and exploiting the people. In truth, the people have every right to overthrow the rich by any means necessary, if the cops are willing to protect the oppressors, then they should be removed as an obstacle to liberation. People who march are not as threatening to me as people who will stop a life saving surgery for profit.

  • @jaonti1795 A beating doesn't deserve a bullet, it deserves and arrest

  • in this video i saw several students attacking the police with sticks in their hands...they are lucky the police used restraint when dealing with this moronic violent attack on them..they would have been within their rights to defend themselves with lethal force.

  • @jaonti1795 They all deserve to get attacked. They are defending such bullshit changes.

  • Keep up the great work. Thanks for providing the video that we don't see on mainstream media. Citizens now need to provide the media since our mainstream media is controlled by the very few. Protecting the internet and freedom of speech is more crucial now then ever and the movement needs others to provide a real outlet for media and accountablility. The cameras are our weapons and all of us together is our power. Together we can spread the message of economic justice. CheckVidsfromOWC
