While I could write a lot of my code significantly faster in Java, mostly because of familiarity, though the memory wasted and the inefficiency of the jvm (shudder) still bothers me more than the occasional segfault that programmers relatively new to c encounter.

A miscommunication on my part, I was aiming to point out C giving the programmer enough rope and Java molly coddling the programmer.

Even stupider than that is that Oracle said they like Google using they're awful technology, then the company sues Google, poor Google made a dumb choice (using Java) and had to pay for it in the court room which is insult to the injury of using that crap (Java).
