http://bit.ly/iX1Q1R - One great thing about blogging is being able to talk about things that others are afraid to—like the fact that one of our greatest presidents liked to sleep with men.

  • Gaybraham Lincoln?

  • Wow, what a way to say come to a conclusion by saying something with no conclusive evidence, then steering off topic, only to say can we really say x was y; or b was y; as his evidence that a way y? This explanation had so many logical fallacies I can't believe bigthink posted it.

    I was really hoping to find out something new/expand my knowledge and have more fuel for gay rights, but was ultimately let down. Sullivan is an idiot or is just spread misinformation.

  • Richard Nixon was gay (;

  • @MaxwellGreene1

    Why do birds sing so gay? Gay is happy and these guys tend to abuse alcohol and attempt suicide at a significantly higher rate than the un-'gay'. A more appropriate title would be Bummers.

  • Not staggering. In the least. Sullivan readily admits that it was common practice for two men to occupy the same bed in the 19th century. Lincoln had been doing it for so long that he probably felt odd sleeping alone when Mary Todd was away (the only time his sleeping with another man was documented to have taken place). Sullivan's opinion on Lincoln's sexuality seem as forced as the one's he holds on economic policy

  • This guy is gay. And by gay I mean he's an idiot. And by an idiot I mean he's a loud-mouth asshole who likes to present himself as important. And by that I mean he's simply a high-minded, pretentious Englishman. And by that I mean he really, really enjoys tea time and dry comedy. And by that I mean he's gay.

    Still nothing on the twin study? Yeah... Now, "disagrees" here applies to what? You're using almost deliberately unclear language often used by bigots to improve their public image. Intolerance of intolerance is intolerance, and bigotry is just a matter of "disagreement". You haven't said anything that would imply that you're not a bigot, however.

  • @BertoBeats Dude WTF are you talking about? I've said repeatedly that a gay gene hasn't been found but it very well may. Stop becoming hysterical everytime someone doesn't walk in lockstep with your beliefs. If you'll go back and read you'll actually find that I'm very open-minded about this topic. You remind me of people who throw out the "racist" and "homophobe" label everytime someone disagrees with them. So annoying

  • @bahdahdoop No I have never said that there is a definitive decision made, I'm just saying that you refusing to even consider homosexuality to be genetic strongly implies that you are homophobic. Not to mention you cannot respect anyone else's opinion but your own.
