Sioux City, IA 12/12/95 our Mother "Alyce Marie Garr" took her last breath. This is the song we used in remembrance of her. The song caressed it's way through the PA system during our Mothers funeral service. I remember the moment it began there wasn't a dry eye in the church. One Sweet Day is a very powerful song & who better to bring that out then Mariah Carey & Boys II Men. GOD does Bless & we can all look forward to One Sweet Day with the ones we have lost along the way through Jesus Christ.

@TrashyTrannyTime yeah, but those whispers BACK THEN were part of what made her get that unique singing style along with her runs and shifting from whisper to full voice back and forth. but her whispery voice kind of gets weak after butterfly era

@TheMCLamb4ever my mother said the same thing. but have you seen her belting on her tokyo tour? i think performance wise, that was her best era. i dont think people are referring to her daydream album itself. her music box tour was that rare uncontrolled vocals but tokyo tour was so precise and her vocals sounded almost exactly like the recording. she did whisper alot at madison square garden during daydream era though...

Wait, but did you see her Proctors Theatre/Thanksgiving special in 93 (particularly make it happen)? Her voice sounded really really strong there, especially when she sang Without You.

But if it's one thing I really like about the Daydream era it's how her voice used to soar while singing ballads (ie. Forever etc)
