This is a short piece that I made for IFC. It just won a 2009 Gold Promax award in the "Something for Nothing" category.

Here's everyone who worked on it:

Music by Alexander Strung
Graphics by Yoram Benz
Voice by Peter McHugh
Video Footage by Ian Savage
Editors: Karyn Bianco, Eyal Dimant, April Hartstein, David Kuther, Joe Pisch
Still of Al Gore by Robert Scoble
Still of Oliver the Cat by Kristen Holt Browning and Sam Browning

  • then why is there all this copy righted stuff

  • In the short? everything in there is public domain.

if you mean, why is there copyrighted stuff in life... I'm not sure. I think sometimes it's for a good reason. And I think sometimes people copyright things because someone told them to.

  • Really, really well put - visually arresting as well. Will spread around.

  • Thanks very much!

  • Great Video! Really showed the differences between professional TV and web video. Now a question, not quality wise, not length-wise but in content and idea-wise, which is better?

  • I think I tend to find more raw good new ideas on the internet these days. The spectrum of quality actually makes the content and ideas seem like they come from the artists themselves - with no filter.

But then again, TV has The Wire.

Nothing like that on the internets. Yet.
