It's good GD doesn't get a lot of coverage because actually, the fewer who know about graphic design, the better it works.

Does Graphic design go both with game design and movies? I'm really sure it does, but I just want to know from someone who is studying graphic design.

You have no clue what you are talking about. Using type is a key part of design, but there is much, much, more to it that apparently you still have yet to learn. It actually is used in video games and movies. All video games have some sort of user interface. Interface design is just one of many uses of graphic design. Movies generally do not use too much design, but it is evident in intro scenes such as those from the James Bond movies.
