  • god thats a big lathe makes the old harrison m500's i'm learning on look silly

  • It's really a big ol baby. easy to operate. Can be a bear to set-up sometimes. I love running it. We've got one lathe that is even bigger. It will swing about 135" x 50' long. It's not as accurate as the Skoda, but does a pretty good job. I'll try to get some photos of it on here soon. Thanks for the comment,

    Scott

  • @JohnScottV Stupid question, how do you account for the amount of sag, when turning between centres with that amount of weight, and hold your tolerances?

  • Fantastic, and your description of that Skoda, I had no idea anyone made a horizontal lathe that big, an 11' diameter X 50'!

  • I can still see your email oops!!

  • I dont suppose you could show a vid of the grining machine for this? I cant believe you can take that bigger cut, how big are the tips on these things?

  • I like the clearance. :P

  • I've seen CNC lathes even bigger than that one. And vertical turret lathes whose tables are nearly fifty feet in diameter.

  • good vid thanks

  • Beautiful Machine. I can grind that bed within one tenth of a thousanth of an inch (.0001") over 32 ft, Kellar machine rebuild, We house one of the biggest slydway grinders in north america.

  • Nice Machine, let me know when its time for a rebuild! I'm equipped to comfortabley grind slydways, tables and all other grinding projects up to 32 feet, over 20 feet in ONE stroke.

  • The ol' TNMG. My favorite tool! good video, nice job
