  • Thats cool Just dont drink the coolaid i guess

  • I dislike most Republicans but jokes about mass murder aren't usually funny.

  • Your an idiot

  • hes got a good idea!

  • Was that supposed to be a joke?

  • Now they had the nerve to bring up the old "Bush died, I lied" soldier suit sign in Sacramento on a politics commercial and use the word "effigy" instead of sign AGAIN. That was a few years ago, it was clearly explained as a sign after the news story, and just to skew the audience's mind they use "effigy" to lie and make it appear different for those who never heard of it or are dumb.

  • drill here, drill now, pay less

  • Alternative fuels are an uncertain gambit -- research today doesn't necessarily give us a breakthrough tomorrow. Private firms are already spending large sums of money on researching alternative fuels, more by far than anyone is proposing the government pony up.

Shale oil, on the other hand, is recoverable and, once refined, could be used in the cars we already have. To say that we should simply switch to alternative fuels is to tell every family that they must buy new cars in the near future.

  • Not so fast BellusRex. He may be counting shale oil, but shale oil is now a big profitable business in Canada. It is no longer a marginal or experimental thing, they are full-out on production, making quite a bit of oil and money.

That's not to say you aren't right about alternative fuels. I like electric vehicles and nuclear. But McClintock is not talking more expensive than world crude when he includes oil shale.

  • The point is that we should be using the resources we do have in the meantime. Refusing to make use of workable sources of energy while there is no alternative is hurting Americans.
