CITV IVC Xmas 1987 (21.12.87)

Here is some Children's ITV (CITV) in-vision continuity from the glory days of when it was presented by Gary Terzza and Debbie Shore. This clip is from Christmas 1987, and I have reason to believe this clip comes from Monday 21st December 1987.

It starts with the end of a Walt Disney cartoon with Donald Duck and Chip n' Dale, and it is followed by the Thames presentation endcap "From Thames in Colour". Now, this was recorded in the Thames region, but I suppose this Disney cartoon was netwroked, and hence it's a bit odd to see a regional Thames endcap following it.

Then it's over to Gary and Debbie in the studio, trailing CITV programmes for the next day. And following the CITV title sequence, a blink-and-you'll-miss-it glimpse of a Thames slide for "Pure Strength '87".

Xmas 87 was the best ever. I was 9 years old and I got a ZX Spectrum computer that year. Loved it!

@RockhopperIsDaMan It wasn't a Thames Production slide but a 'From Thames' slide. They always did this with imports at that time. I think a few of the regions did something similar.

I'm so glad I was a child in the 1970s because this looks seriously substandard. We had Brian Cant, John Noakes and Floella Benjamin and the kids of the 80s had these two losers.

Those cartoons along with Tom and Jerry and Bug Bunny with Yosamite sam were the south park of that generation.
