  • Yeah this is probably my favorite Amicus anthology. Peter Duffell wanted to give it a more subtle name but Max Rosenberg insisted on THTDB, same deal with And Now the Screaming Starts!. I have to say, these reviews have really made me want to go back and watch these again but I moved interstate a while ago and most of my DVD collection is 3000km away.

I think the next review is TFTC, the only one I haven't seen so I'll have to give that review a miss for now.

  • @IceCreamSuit That sucks that you don't have your collection with you. I think 'The House that Dripped Blood' does have a better title than 'Death and the Maiden', I just don't see why that title would make sense lol. I'll be doing Asylum next, the TFTC ( which has some fantastic stories in it). I envy you getting to watch if for the first time!

  • All you can say about this film is that it's got a terrific cast.... All I can say about the House that dripped blood is that your quite right. The creepiness of whats going on in the first story got me.

But I can say, Jon Pertwee and Ingrid Pitt. growing up loving Dr. Who, that was a particular favourite of mine. Pertwee was such a fantastic actor, such a shame he wasn't in more roles like this.

Awesome reviews though! Looking forward to the next one!

  • @Angerlevel Yeah I'm a massive Pertwee fan and I'm glad someone else rates him as the doctor ( he's easily one of the best to me). His Doctor Who era really stands out compared to the other stories as he was stranded on earth for most of it. Thanks for sticking with these reviews, it's always great to speak to someone who is a fan of Amicus. I will have my review of Asylum up before the weekend, then finish the series off by the end of next week :)
