How To Build A Go Kart : Part 4 : Back Axle
In this episode i will show u the back axle setup!

Step 1 : Gather Up Parts
-x2 Wheels (I Chose 12")
-x2 Axle Hangers/Bearings (Must be same size as axle)
-Axle (35-45" mine is 40")
-Sprocket
-Brake Disc

Step 2 : Back axle hangers
2a. Place the axle hangers about 5" from the back of the go kart.
2b. Make marks where to drill.
2c. Using a drill, drill out the marks.
2d. Using some strong bolts, fasten them in place.

Step 3 : Sprocket and Brake Disc placement.
I just made a hub to attach the disc and sprocket to the axle.
3a. Weld a large washer or nut to the sprocket and brake disc.
3b. Weld the brake disc to the axle.

Step 4 : Wheels
4a. Weld the 2 wheels to the ends of the axle.

Hi rly nice job. :) 2 quick questions: do u put the sprocket and brake disk together? and 2: does the caliper you get have to be the same size as the wheel?

i wouldn't trust those welds, the amounts of slag and lack of fusion in the welds im amazed that the kart is still together
