Ottawa police shoot two people one in the Head ,one in the Chest

The video doesn't say the man got shot in the head but the article does.

Ontario's Special Investigation Unit is investigating after Ottawa police allegedly shot two people at a highrise apartment building in the city's west end early Monday morning.

The SIU says a 27-year-old man was shot in the face and a 25-year-old woman, who was allegedly armed with a knife, was shot once in the chest when two officers responded to a call at apartment 1208 at 810 Pinecrest Road at about 4 a.m. Both are well known blood gang members and have been charged with more then 55 criminal offenses total, include weapon charges, attempted murder, illegal firing of fire arm and robbery.

This is the 5th time a police officer has shot a someone in the Ottawa area this year include one resulting in death. Also is the 5th shooting in a highrise apartment building in less then a month including 3 murder resulting of the shootings, and the second gang related shooting in less then 24 hours.

The pair is being treated for life threatening injuries and both are in stable condition in hospital.

The man, who was at the woman's apartment at the time of the incident, is scheduled to undergo surgery at the Ottawa Hospital's civic campus Monday afternoon.

The SIU told CTV Ottawa investigators are unaware of the relationship between the man and the woman.
There is no word on why police were called to the building, but a knife has since been recovered from the scene.

The SIU is called in when police are involved in incidents involving the public which result in death or serious injury

@klink1983 they may be trained that 21 is min safe distance and considering humans walk at about 1m per sec 10 feet is suffient to turn run and seek cover. oh yeah ever hear of that cop that shot at an armed suspect missed and killed an innocent person riding his bike. yeah suspect had a knife and was running away thats your ontario police for ya so no you are idiot.

@stalkingcat123 You sir/ma'am are an idiot. Clearly you have no experience with use of force at any capacity. All Police Officers in the Province of Ontario are trained that the lethal distance of a knife is 21feet. If you are within 21feet of someone with a knife...you are probably dead unless you act. That is the distance required to be able to react, anything inside of that there is obviously only one option.

no its a fuckin knife if you cannot escape melee range then you don't belong. if its a gun thats a different story i dont think many people can easily escape a bullet fired from a gun. where was the taser, their is no such thing as exessive use of tasers only exsessive resistance.

police are pathetic. its a knife you are trained to deal with shit like that without the loss of life. but oh cops these days think they are more important then the average citizen. "its not my job to put myself in harms way." YES YES it is your job to protect people and sometimes that means standing infront of a bullet.
