The quiet Hahoe (pronounced HA-hway) Village is frozen in time. It's one of my favorite places to escape. Ben and I stayed overnight here in the middle of cherry blossom season, and we basically had the whole place to ourselves. In face, there were no restaurants. A nice B&B opened their kitchen for us, and it was some of the best food I've had in Korea.

  • We stayed at Choyongin ("Quiet") Minbak, and we ate at Eunhaeng Namu ("Gingko Tree") Minbak. It's one of the bigger ones next to the village center where the bus stops. I wish we stayed there too.

  • It is a beautiful & serene place! I was there early September visiting my son who is teaching in Andong. What was the name of the Bed & Breakfast? Korean food is the best! Did you stay at the B&B too? I would love to go again during the cherry blossom season!!

  • I went to this village during a break from teaching in 2008. Truly beautiful!

  • Real nice!

  • Thanks for the video. I just had my morning meditation through this video!
