Andong, part 2: Hahoe Village

The quiet Hahoe (pronounced HA-hway) Village is frozen in time. It's one of my favorite places to escape. Ben and I stayed overnight here in the middle of cherry blossom season, and we basically had the whole place to ourselves. In face, there were no restaurants. A nice B&B opened their kitchen for us, and it was some of the best food I've had in Korea.

It is a beautiful & serene place! I was there early September visiting my son who is teaching in Andong. What was the name of the Bed & Breakfast? Korean food is the best! Did you stay at the B&B too? I would love to go again during the cherry blossom season!!

I went to this village during a break from teaching in 2008. Truly beautiful!

We stayed at Choyongin ("Quiet") Minbak, and we ate at Eunhaeng Namu ("Gingko Tree") Minbak. It's one of the bigger ones next to the village center where the bus stops. I wish we stayed there too.
