I get a horrible framerate on 1080, like 2 fps. I have 2GB RAM, and 512MB of videoram. I run Win 7. What could be the reason? In Quicktime everything runs smoothly, but not on YouTube HD.

i hope you weren't using digital zoom because you'll kill the crisp picture. also, get a camera with image stabilization feature.

This is optical zoom and the cam has image stabilization :)

Hard to hold the cam steady with 10x zoom & freehand. But look at my channel, the video that is immediately starting is also 1080p.

I think it is not yet converted to 1080p, it looks like 720p.
You can see if it's 1080p or not in the Fullscreen-Mode: Big Buttons at the bottom: 720p. Small Buttons: 1080p. Right now they are still big, so we have to wait till Youtube converted the video to 1080p.
