This song was written by Michael Nesmith (of the Monkeys).
But it was Buckwheat that brought it to me.....one of my favorite songs and I always go back to drivin through west texas with nothing around but jackrabbits and tumbleweeds at 5am.

Country music? Hmmmmmm, back in the day we called this progressive country but I suppose country is as good of a term. I think the progressive lifts it above the average country song or maybe I just thought the music I liked, at a younger age, couldn't be simply country! You've probably hear all of Jimmy Buffet's songs but if not do a search for the album, "Living and Dying in 3/4 Time". It's one of the few that I like every song on the Album. I guess it's country! ;~)

"Cactus Jack drinks his coffee black." Not sure why, but B.W. Stevenson always says 1970s Texas to me. And that's not a bad thing.
