tears on my iceberg, tears in my iceberg.

Really interesting and surprisingly good. This hybrid of Jamaican and American culture works for me

A typical Studio One arrangement of a"soft tune" back in the day.

Very good point. And it was also more common during this time for many artists to cover other artists' songs as well.
In any case, this is NOT a ripoff. Marley and company are doing their own thing with this tune.

@PJDooWop I understand bro, but when White artists/groups do covers of Black songs, they call it a 'rip off', so, in all fairness, this went both ways. If Dion covered a Bob Marley song, he'd say the same thing. It is what it is...just keepin' it fair.

These lyrics are mostly invented. Only the chorus seems to be the "cover" part.

It's a rip-Off of the original by Dion and the Belmonts.

i wouldn't necessarily call it a rip-off. A lot of Jamaican artists did covers of other people's songs. It was a common practice back then

We go to Jamaica a couple of times a year as my wife's Jamaican born and bred, Can I get a copy of this record? Not for love nor money. So thank you for uploading your copy....

I could imagine that even in Jamaica this would be a difficult title to get (at least on an original pressing). I'm sure Coxsone must have reissued it at least once over the years
