does yours? Shasta has was our family pet for years. She has been with my family all of my life. Through the years, she developed a personality just like all dogs do and she eventually learned the words Treat and Walk and bye bye and countless other words but i just recently discovered that SHE CAN SAY i want it or you know, thats what it sounds like! enjoy...

  • Give it to her as soon as she comply or she will get the idea she is not doing it the best she can but she is pleasing you. She is but you are not responding. Confusing for her. That is why she barked instead.

  • @outwiththem Shasta (our dog) was 12 when we shot the video. She definitely understood the purpose behind receiving a treat. The barking should absolutely not be mistaken for confusion. We trained our dog well, yes we even taught her how to SPELL treat, so please leave all of your wise words of wisdom about how to train our dog in your head, especially since Shasta (at age 15) has now passed.

  • My Silky "Grim" does the same thing!!

  • This is brilliant.. :)

  • I am sorry to hear that Shasta has passed. My husband and I are getting our first Westie, our first puppy, in less than two weeks. Do you have any words of wisdom or any good information about the breed?

  • @rspeople7 I lost my westie recently (Jed, or Jedson Ra - he was 12). I don't think I will ever get a dog like him again, and I came across him unexpectedly. They are the most loving, most fulfilling breed of dog. He was a law unto himself, with very little training, but he knew exactly what I was thinking and would be my shadow where ever I went. Nice video and sorry for your loss.

  • shes so sped its adorableeeee!!!! (not in a bad way, just very talkative and playful)

  • @outwiththem sorry to hear that. I have a wee westie too and can only imagine what it feels like

  • i just love westies. they are so cute.
