Africa is not a massive poverty driven country, Go to Africa and see for yourself but also educate yourself. You have the internet, there should be no excuse for ignorance's when it comes to one of the beautiful continents on the planet.

@53Africa Actually, they're not my statistics. Stats don't remotely tell the whole story about anything. I was simply making a comparison to industrialized lands. America has hardly any desert land, which means more industrialization, which is only "ONE" reason for a higher GDP. Just my opinion. If I'm wrong, please feel free to educate me further. @gmccall22?GDP Nonce's is it from our Gov, people who are in Privet sectors owning their own businesses with huge Farms and employed personals do you really thing they fall into your statistics.The Sahara Desert doesn't cover much of Africa at all and besides that we have The highest Namib desert on West coast of Namibia and the Kalahari Desert to the East.West Africa and Central is mostly tropical with a lot of vegetation and fruits.Look up 4 AU,NEPAD,ECOWAS,SADC States,EAC Countries 4-rl Info

Africa has the lowest GDP of all continents, and largely due to the fact that huge portions of Africa are Desert and Jungle. Not much can be built in the Sahara (The worlds largest desert)without being destroyed by sand storms. I think Africa's GDP will increase by a few trillion if more of the land were like America and Europe

Once a few more countries get stable, secure, safe, and united strong economically. I would be more than happy to leave the U.S. and live the rest of my life in AFRICA. We see the only AFRICANS coming to the US are either coming from war torn countries or the few rich trying the markets over here. The rest love their OWN HOMELAND too much to resettle and try to start over here in AMERICA. VERY NICE AND OUTSTANDING SERIES OF VIDEOS ABOUT WHERE WE ORIGINALLY CAME FROM. PEACE

@macadon, of course AMERICA and EUROPE does not want the world or blacks in the u.s. to see the real AFRICA. Always war,disease,starvation,strife, conflict and no kind of good development along with crooked corrupt dictators and leaders. The natural beauty of AFRICA is almost unrivaled by only south america and canada. Keep up the good postings macadon and AFRICA NEEDS TO KEEP UP THIS KIND OF WORK. Want to visit so bad now seeing this.
