  • just tried your tutorial and i think i must be messing up somewhere despite pausing at every step as my one doesnt look like a flower it just looks like a circle with gaps in it. tried it 3 times now could anyone explain where i might be going wrong

  • Just made this flower using your tutorial. I have never crocheted before, and I did it perfectly with your guidance! Way to go!

  • Thank you for making it so simple to follow!! :)

in stitch 9 - 3 double crochets (stitches if you like) with a chain of 2 on the end of the last double crochet (stitch).

in stitch 10 - a slip stitch to finish.

I hope that explains how the 5 petals are created. There are 5 sets of 3 double crochets (forming the petals) and 5 slip stiches/chains (forming the sides of the petal, allowing space for the 3 double crochets without puckering).

She uses 3 stitches (double crochets) for each petal. The circle of 10 stitches in the centre is used as follows:

Start by chaining 2, this is not in one of the 10 stitches, then,

in stitch 1- 3 double crochets (stitches if you like) with a chain of 2 on the end of the last double crochet (stitch).

in stitch 2 - a slip stitch followed by a chain of 2

in stitch 3- 3 double crochets (stitches if you like) with a chain of 2 on the end of the last double crochet (stitch).
