Old Ironforge (aka. Hall of Thanes) has finally been unlocked in the latest PTR patch! The door has been opened making the place accessible to everyone and there are multiple neat changes made! Be sure to check out what's new in High Definition (HD)!

Actually, Magni sacrificed himself because they had found some tablets in Ulduar that they thought would let Magni have the ability to hear the earth's cries to figure out what was wrong with Azeroth and keep people safe (due to it being Pre-Cataclysm).
They thought the ritual, which said he would become "One with the earth", was a figure of speech, but they of course found that it was very literal, hence why he is now made of diamond.
