LOL you realize your making this much of a deal over a game where one person is supposed to bring balls over a line, it's fucking gay, its just a game and should not be as important as some people take it cause it's just a game.

If what you say is correct, in that conference championships ruin things, why would you not propose a round robin system that the Pac10 and Big10 do? There would be no upsets where a championship game can ruin a nearly perfect season. It would be clear who the top team is.

yeah as a horns fan i think cal should have made it to the rose bowl that year, cuz we beat a&m by only 13 points. now the aggies had a decent ( decent in aggie terms) squad but we should have beat them like 40-13

I find it difficult to reason with supporters of the current state of college football. They'll stick to their beliefs even if we can refute them (most glaringly the excuse that "the regular season is a playoff" when it ISN'T). I don't know if enlightening them can do playoff enthusiasts any good.

#3 would it really conflict with exams if you had the post season in December and January when students are on break?

well i can understand your arguement i really do but heres the thing with number 1 yes there would be 4 more games so what? number 2 there will be no matter what but honestly if your a real football fan and you see the top 4 teams battling and whoever gets those top 2 spots you would say they deserve it just like the nfl number 3 you got a point but wait doesnt college basketball do like 3 games a week? and still travel and still do playoffs so yea that one is pretty much shit and 4 ITS FOOTBALL

The University of California got screwed BIG TIME in 2004. It was a travesty what happened that year.

but they did hurt their case that year when Texas Tech killed them in the Holiday Bowl, Texas blew tech out that season

Very true. And I'm not going to make excuses for that game either. BUT...Cal really had their heart set on the Rose Bowl. At the end of the MSU game, they were handing out blue roses. And I think getting a Holiday Bowl vid took it right out of 'em.
They did avenge that loss, however. Not against Tech but against A&M. In 05 they give them a Pac-10 beating.
